Young Nurses Take Action in Partnership with Bridges of Hope is planning to take a team of Nurses to Uganda to work with the Amuka Twende clinic to help with health promotion and education in Busia, Kasangati, and Kibuku.
The goal and vision is to partner with groups and individuals in their local context to help empower and equip people to enhance their lives and with this trip specifically we will be attempting to do this through Health education and assessment.
The trip will include a team of 9-10 Nurses and is estimated to be 16-18 days in length and we are planning for 5 different health conferences in 3 different areas. Addressing topics such as: Malaria, Hygiene, HIV, Sexual Health, and family planning.
Young Nurses take action is a non-profit organization that is focused on leadership, mentorship, and global citizenship of young Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
Amuka Twende is a project of a medical clinic and resources in the town of Busia which is in Eastern Uganda on the border between Uganda and Kenya. The clinic will help meet the medical needs of the villagers in Busia and surrounding areas. Services to be offered include basic medicines, blood tests, and maternity services with services expanding as the clinic develops.
