Boura Children's Center
Boura Children's Center is located in the small village of Boura, Burkina Faso in West Africa. It is a safe place for children that are in distressed situations due to poor income, sickness, or most commonly, death of the mother.
Boura Children's Center provides these children with basic needs such as food, clothing, water, and shelter. Medical care is also provided by the Bridges of Hope Clinic located nearby.
Build a School
Can you imagine attending school under a tree? Many children in impoverished communities around the world do exactly that. Without adequate shelter and educational supplies many children stop attending school altogether.
Your gift to construct a school and/or renovate existing schools offers a safe, productive learning environment that can make the difference in the lives of the children and their communities.
Did you know that if the average distance to the moon is 394,400 km, African women together walk the equivalent of a trip to the moon and back 16 times a day to supply their households with water?
The saddest part of this is the water they bring back is usually contaminated and carries with it all kinds of disease.
With a well in the community, not only is the drinking water much safer, the physical demand on women is lessened immensely and they can spend more time on income generating activities.
